002: Summer lovin’ games

I love summer holidays! Lots of hanging out with friends, barbecues, and playing board games. Sadly, I was the second to go bankrupt in this game of Monopoly!

This is the first (and so far only) photo I’ve processed in Snapseed on the iPhone. I like it, but I think I like the controls in Photogene2 better.

031: Pretty ground cover

Yup, more flowers! These ones were taken at Abbotsleigh School for Girls in Wahroonga.

Every year the Archbishop of Sydney gives a series of three lectures at the school, which we’ve been attending for a number of years. If you’re in the area next February, consider coming along!

029: Kata Empi

This is Morgan practicing kata Empi. He was gracious enough to let me take photos of him for this project.

I’ve been doing karate for six years, and Dave (my husband) longer than that, although we’ve been a bit slack in recent years. Morgan was a beginner in Dave’s class when Dave was a sensei; he’s come a long way since then!

028: In bloom

These trees were absolutely beautiful when they sprung out their pink flowers… I wish I had taken a photo that did them more justice. I wanted to capture the the cute little arcade in its cuteness, but I fear I failed.

028: Gerry

I love candid photos. Happy snaps are fine, but I find that candids usually catch more of the moment, and person’s real character and beauty, than a posed photo does.

This is my friend Geraldine at San Churro Chocolataria for our friend Nat’s birthday.

026: Ghosts

My camera is able to take multiple exposures and compile them into one automatically, so I thought I’d try that out.

I’m not sure what I expected the result to be, but it wasn’t this! I think I thought the differences in the exposures (i.e., me) would be clearer and less ghostly, but now that I see how it works it makes sense that it would turn out this way. Although I’m not sure why it’s built into the camera— what would you use it for that you wouldn’t do in post to have a bit more control?
